The Blue River

5/26/13
Took my nephew fly fishing for his first time and he caught two fish..He took a fly fishing course and was really wanting to see if he could do everything on his own. He rigged is own line and tied all of his own knots but the one thing he didn't learn in his class was how to handle his line once he hooks up. He did pretty good, first one was a little shaky but he did really good on his second fish. The fish took him down stream and he just walked it out handled it very well.. Good Job Nick

There were a couple other people on the river and I didn't see anybody catching fish..
OH.. I caught a fish to.

We have been having some good luck on the Blue River in the last couple weeks.
Garrett and his wife went to the Blue during the week and he caught 12 and his wife caught 9.. but I think it was probably the other way around.. I wasn't there so I just have to go with what he says..

Caught this fish on my way to the Frying Pan on 3/21/13,
first fish after shoulder surgery, no pain..

Good day on the river, The Blue was full of fish today. My friend Lynn caught a couple nice fish and I had a couple real hogs on early in the morning. One of them broke me off and the other was just to big for my net.

Took my friend Matt fly fishing for his first time yesterday and he caught two fish. The bad thing is he doesn't know how to hold on to them long enough for a photo. I caught two fish myself, small fish though.Only fished 3 hours and both got two fish.. excellent weather.

Fall fly fishing on the Blue River can be very productive.

First fish of the day was a nice 19 inch rainbow.

Thought I should try the same hole and see what it would produce for me, after all there were a few salmon in the hole also. This fish was a 25inch 7lb rainbow that was built like a cinder block.

It was getting close to move on since I hadn't caught a fish in an hour or so. Just one more cast..
This fish was a nice cutthroat about 22inches and around 5lb.

After a trip to the Frying Pan we stopped at the Blue and my friend Lynn caught this nice 5lb rainbow.
