Frying Pan River

Frying Pan River 3/22/13

Fishing was cold in the morning, I don't know exact but I would have to say it was close to zero or colder when we got on the river about 7:30am, once the sun came out we were able to move down river more and get into a good hatch.. Everybody caught fish and it was nice day until about 3:00pm when we finally left.

Ed Smith fishing the Frying Pan just down from the bend pool.

Ed with a nice brown.. he caught it on the red thing just below the dry..

Me with a little brown.. not much size but the colors in the tail is why I got the picture.
beautiful fish

Matt Brainard caught this nice trout here.. nice work.

Went to the Frying Pan on 10.15.2012 with a couple of buddies Cameron and Johnny, the water has been lowered to around 80cfs. I tried to fish the flats for a while but the water was a little dirty and the water is so low there is no where to hide. I went up to the toilet bowl where they let the water out of the dam and Johnny and Cameron were killing it. They had probly cought ten fish before I even got there.. so many fish we couldn't count but here are a few pics of some nice fish that we did catch.

I know it's hard to beleive but Johnny cought two fish with one cast.. two mysis shrimp and two fish..he always has to show off..

Met this guy up there at the "pan" pretty cool kid.. and a nice fish..

My Friend Lynn and I took a two day trip to the Frying Pan last weekend of March 2012. We caught a lot of  browns in the 14-17 inch range and I landed a decent rainbow about 20inch. We ran into Andy Kim a guide on the San Juan River in NM. He is a super nice guy and very helpful with any questions. I would like to take a trip down there someday to fish with him again.

We fish the pan a couple times a year, The 8 River Rodeo is one of the stops along the way to fishing 8 rivers in two days. I got lucky and landed the second biggest fish of the competition.

Lynn caught some nice fish also throughout the weekend.
